When summer arrives, many of us can’t help but daydream about sunny beach days and warm weather, even if we will be enjoying them from the comfort of our homes. Some people may find their productivity levels declining during this time of year. Here’s a go-to guide on staying on top of your deadlines while still enjoying your summer:
Bring the Zoom Calls Outside
If you’re working from home it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some calls out in the backyard. You’ll find yourself paying more attention to what your coworkers are saying if you don’t deprive yourself of some much-needed sunshine.
Bring the Beach to You
You might not be able to go to the beach, but you can bring some parts of it to your desk. Find a picture of your favorite beach to place on your desk, or change your computer wallpaper to a beautiful portrait of the ocean. For those stressful moments in your day, playing the sound of the ocean in the background while you work can be the perfect way to relax and unwind while still getting the job done.
Add Some Light
Light can significantly impact our mood and productivity levels. If you’re feeling like your workspace could use some brightening, consider using a new lamp and opening shades or windows. Another tip is to add some vibrant color to your office products. Consider purchasing some fun colored pens or vibrant summer color for your binders and notebooks. The pop of brightness throughout your workday can improve your mood.
Take Regular Breaks
It may sound counterproductive, but if you find yourself getting easily distracted during your workday, it may be helpful to take some planned breaks throughout the day. Scheduling “me time” for 15 minutes can help you be more focused and productive.
